In the heart of Eyüpsultan, Sokollu Mehmet Paşa Madrasa bears the distinctive touch of Mimar Sinan and is a notable example of 16th-century Ottoman educational architecture. Commissioned by Grand Vizier Sokollu Mehmet Paşa in 1568–1569, it follows the classical madrasa plan, with student cells and a classroom arranged around an open courtyard. Distinguished by dressed stonework and an arcaded courtyard, it formed part of a wider complex alongside Sokollu’s tomb and Qur’an recitation school in Eyüp.
